you're spending the night in a handcrafted treehouse, a double-decker bus, a converted fire
engine, a woodland cabin or one of our peaceful camping pitches, every stay offers a chance
to step away from everyday life and experience something a little magical.
Blackberry Wood was lovingly created and developed over more than twenty years by its
previous owners, whose vision transformed a beautiful piece of Sussex woodland into one of
the UK's most unique glamping destinations. In the summer of 2025, the site entered a new
chapter when it was acquired by Kate Peach and Siobhan McCarroll. Having fallen in love
with Blackberry Wood's character, creativity and sense of community, they became the site's
proud custodians, committed to preserving everything that guests have cherished for years
while carefully introducing new ideas and experiences for future generations to enjoy.
Today, Blackberry Wood remains a true family affair. Kate, her husband Alan and their
children are actively involved in the life of the site, alongside our wonderful team of wardens
who live here year-round and help create the warm, welcoming atmosphere that so many
guests return for. Together, we share a simple goal: to ensure every guest leaves with happy
memories, new stories and a desire to return.
One of the things that makes Blackberry Wood so special is its extraordinary accommodation.
From treehouses hidden amongst the leaves to quirky vehicles transformed into places to stay,
every corner of the site has its own personality. Over the years Blackberry Wood has attracted
attention from visitors across the country and has even featured on television, thanks to its
wonderfully unconventional approach to outdoor holidays.
Yet for all its quirky charm, the heart of Blackberry Wood remains the woodland itself.
Ancient trees, seasonal wildflowers, birdsong, woodland wildlife and starlit evenings create
an environment that encourages guests to slow down, reconnect with nature and enjoy life's
simpler pleasures. Children spend their days exploring trails, spotting wildlife and building
memories, while adults rediscover the joy of sitting around a fire pit beneath the trees.
